Thought I'd give Downton Abby a try.

It's actually a really good show.

I didn't have any idea what it was about. caught an episode when someone else was watching it and decided to watch from the start.

The grandmother is the best character on the show.

Sybil is hot.

I still have a thing for Lady Mary.

Anna is pretty

the balance between good and a-hole servants is pretty even.

Carson reminds me of some grandparents when i was young.

I know it's set over 100 years ago but, I can't get over the fact that the rich can't dress or undress themselves.

Great show and truly endearing. You'll fall in love with the entire cast. There's a reason they can release a new movie every few years that really doesn't do much in terms of plot, but the fanbase still enjoys them. I just want to hang out with my Downton people from time to time.

Poor Mr. Pamuk.

But that's how I want to go.

I resisted for a while, but it's actually really good.

I too thought it was Downtown Abbey when I first started watching. I remember thinking, this isn't about a church down town, wtf is going on? .

Sadly enough, I think catching a glimpse of Sybil in one of the early episodes was what drew me in....

In my opinion, if you like period dramas, its one of the very best out there.

Well written and acted.

Fantastic knowing that was Theo James too.

For OP, love the show. One of my favorite period piece shows. I haven't watched the final movie yet though.

Any sane person will end up hating everyone except the dead sister and Carson. They really fricked up letting the irish communist in the house.

I am jealous. I would love to be seeing it again for the first time. We have rewatched about four times.

Go watch Gosford Park.

Written by Julian Fellowes.

Directed by Robert Altman.

Superb film. Excellent for a cold rainy, wintery weekend.

Anyone who was a fan should put the Season 2 Episode 9 Christmas Special on their yearly Christmas watch list.My wife and I started doing this a few years ago and we really enjoy it. There is just so much that goes down in that episode and it to me is kind of the apex of joy in the show before a lot of sad things start happening.

I’m looking forward to the new show they are working on. Similar in structure and style but in America circa 1972

Downtown Abbeville

Should be gripping drama
