All the salty Ole Miss and Florida fans I’ve talked to keep saying wait for Lane to leave in 4 years. CLK making sure to mention in his press conference that him being 50 is similar to the age of Pete when he took the USC job and the age of Saban when he took the Bama job shows he’s here to stay imo.

He talked about LSU like it is a once and a lifetime opportunity. If he gets what he needs year in and year out, it’ll be hard for him to leave. He said we are set up like a NFL team. Just keep him happy, and let him build this thing into what Saban built Bama into

But he is the same age Saban was when Saban took the LSU job. Saban left LSU for the NFL, and Carrol left USC for the NFL… I’ll be happy if he gets LSU a ship or 2 and bolts for the NFL.

It’s going to be hard to build what Bama built under Saban. NIL is like the Wild West. It’s hard to stockpile 5 stars now.

I really think he wants to make LSU his 10-15 year job and win multiple championships. Hope it works.

It’s also easier to get in the playoffs.

Yeah he spoke of LSU as a destination job and he's absolutely correct. We are in for our own Saban like run here.

Lane got to his Mount Olympus just like Carroll and Saban did. Every star aligned to make this happen. Does he stay here for 20 years probably not, but he’s here now.

He will either be here forever or be fired in 5. He isn’t leaving for a bigger job unless the NFL has the perfect opportunity.

Not just them, but Gumps and national media, too. Even some UGA fans.

They're all wishcasting out of fear. If skipping town for another job is just what Lane does and is always inevitable, then nobody would be clutching their pearls or gnashing their teeth over this move. But they are because they know he could stay and win big at LSU long-term.

NFL is way too unpredictable year to year and his pay would be cut in half.

HE will be at LSU a long time. mark it down. HE wants a statue outside the stadium like Nick at bama. it's coming. get ready.
