One thing I don't understand is people saying Lane will only be "just another coach" here

Like people saying he should stay at Ole Miss because he could become a legend of the school. As if he couldn't become a legend here?

Ole Miss and Florida both have coaches that won multiple NCs. LSU doesn't, all of theirs are spread out among multiple coaches than won singular titles. I'd argue the easiest path to becoming the GOAT coach of these any of these 3 schools would be at LSU where Miles currently holds the title (Saban greatest talent but Miles has greatest career and will be remembered most for coaching at LSU). I'd argue it's easier to surpass Miles at LSU than to surpass Vaught at OM or Meyer/Spurrier at UF.

When you add in the built in resources and the brand power of the schools it just makes the choice even easier.

If he wins 2 then he will have all the other coaches beat!

Agreed. LSU doesn’t have a legend coach synonymous with the school like you can name off the bat with others.

All he has to do is win 2 and he will have a building or street named after him

Nick going to Bama and Les with the cover up BS, pretty much killed any shot at them getting something named in their honor

No matter what, LSU football just got exciting, and relevant.
It's crazy to say, but with NIL, next year truly is national title or bust.
Even if we lose a few games, it's gonna be wild and we should be in the playoffs regularly as long as he stays.

Ole Miss, when?

They don’t have a single AP, Coaches, BCS or CFP championship that I’m aware of.

Are you including retroactive computer polls?

People were also saying the same shite about Brian Kelly. Prove it on the field. Hype is bullshite and social media excitement.

2003 sec west co-champs. Didn’t go to Atlanta because Eli got sacked and LSU won the game and held the tie breaker.

I think there is a legit chance for Lane to be what Saban should have been at LSU

Dude has the swagger, is great at one side of the ball, and appears to have a handle on the new era of recruiting/portal dynamic

How many National Championships does Lane have ?
How many Conference Championships does Lane have ?

I mean he was about the best you could hope for, but y'all are acting like you landed Saban or Urban.
You people though BK was a huge hire, and we know how that worked out
