That we are a premier perennial powerhouse in college football and have a highly coveted coaching position.
In the late 90s, I was in college and we were TERRIBLE. It changed with Gerry Dinardo and later Nick Saban. We weren’t anything close to the beast we are now.
Today we are a prize, a main attraction, a pinnacle, and among the best places to play, coach, and cheer in all college football.
Buckle up ….we are gonna be cooking up good stuff for years to come . Proud to be a Tiger.

Would we have got lane without the relationship to Saban by both parties?

Put this on ya Facebook page. No one cares here

Dinardo never gets the credit he deserves, imo. He laid the groundwork that Saban built from.

Scary to think about this teams potential now with an elite coach entering their prime.

I think Saban helped us A TON. And the fact that LSU would let Orgeron come back signaled that we were flexible and would let him be autonomous and call the shots and build the staff he needs .
Saban was clutch. He functioned a bit as a kingmaker imho

A crossover biopic between Dinardo and Sicario. Gonna be a great movie

He made a huge difference and brought the magic back all the way from 1958. It was a long drought. He was definitely the first stepping stone. He made football fun again

Great post! Kiffin is really the best we could have gotten and don’t think he’ll go anywhere.l for a while. Even if he left in the future, we would get someone great because of who we have become.

$$$,$$$,$$$.$$ helps a lot. Saban, BK and Lane all received massive contracts (relatively speaking for Saban).

It certainly says our boosters will pay exorbitant amounts of money in pursuit of a championship

Yep. His tenure ended badly, but he halted a freefall. I see posters occasionally incorrectly stating that Saban brought the magic back to Tiger Stadium, but that was Dinardo; it was literally the slogan for his teams. He left a talented roster for Saban to work from.

I met Dinardo in the mall right after it opened. Guy was a giant. Also a very nice man.

He would have been a fun guy to have a beer with and talk
