Now more than ever it’s win and win now for coaches. Coaching turnover is going to continue to increase. Naturally, the hot names to fill the biggest openings will be coaches on teams competing for a CFP spot.

It is completely unacceptable to force schools and coaches to make these decisions before the playoffs are done. It’s not fair to the coaches that have worked so hard to earn a playoff spot, it’s not fair to the players that have given their all for that coach to be uncertain on if their coach is going to coach them in the playoffs, it’s not fair to the fans, it’s not fair to the high school recruits trying to decide where they are going to go to school.

It’s completely unacceptable for the signing day and portal deadlines to force hands like this. College football is too big for the NCAA to allow this to ruin the sport.

Agree this is a disaster. They have to fix the timelines

They basically made malign a bowl meaningless and killed recruiting and building relationships with how they have handled the transfer system and NIL.

That is the biggest issue. Schools won’t have patience anymore now that they have seen how quickly a program can be turned around.

NCAA sucks. I wish big universities would realize they don’t need the ncaa

The coaches wanted the early signing date.
There use to be just one the first week in Feb.

The portal is set when most schools end their semesters. How would it work if school began and a few weeks later the portal opened?

Idk, but I don’t get paid to make those decisions. All I know is that the current system is not workable. If things don’t change, this is going to happen several more times.

Honestly, get rid of conference championship games, move playoffs and NC up.

You could eliminate the early signing period for high school recruits and go back to how it used to be with signing day not until February. Thats an easy fix

The tougher issue to solve is the transfer portal window. If you push the transfer portal window back to after the CFP, by then spring semester classes have already started. The NCAA would have to move the CFP up by a week or 2 to avoid that. If they got rid of conference title games, it makes it easier to start the first round of CFP 2 weeks after Thanksgiving
