He wants to take the LSU job, but he wants to coach Ole Miss in the playoffs. He is waiting to see who is going to blink first. If he's willing to risk it, I think he can play this all the way out. Chase disagrees with me. That's what I think. I think it's one thing for Ole Miss to say it's going to do something and a complete other thing for Ole Miss to actually do something. Maybe I'm wrong. Chase has worked that part of the story a lot more than I have. He has heard that there are things Ole Miss can do, but he has never heard any details on what those things are.

He’s agreed to terms with LSU. It’s an embarrassment for him to go public and still coach at OM. So they are figuring out how they want to handle that before it goes public

Y'all can get bitchy about this all you want but Lane is in the right here. If it wasn't for media nobody would know about his interest in LSU especially if leaks were handled better on LSU's side. He deserves to coach the team he helped get there until they're out. He didn't tell LSU or Florida to fire their coaches.
Ultimately, you can't blame Ole Miss either as this hurts them too the longer he waits it out. This is on the NCAA for being shortsighted as per usual with a shite show setup.

Would LSU allow him to coach them in the playoffs?? That’s recruiting, getting coaching in order etc time. We are paying you extra for not. I’d signing bonus for a 20m and lower the per year and incentivize wins, cfp, nattys. Get this done..also massive buyout our way if he leaves, mainly to bama. 50m for bama, 25m everywhere else.
