Just left for lunch… food still great ( whole fried catfish, dirty rice, creamed
Spinach)

But the beer prices…..PBR draft used to be $1, then a few years back $2. Now it’s $5

Of course they do. Gradually. Just not quite at the same pace that it’s been the past 5 years.

Unfortunately it seems like everything has gone up unilaterally across the board. Whether you are buying a beer, ribeye, or lightbulb everything has skyrocketed except for gasoline. $5 for a glass of beer though is high. My guess and I bet I’m not far off is restaurants are charging more for alcohol to soften the blow of rising labor and food cost. Nothing cheap about running a small business these days.

Yea food prices didn’t stand out as increasing. So I guess they making up by jacking up alcohol prices

$5 for any beer is not high. You’d be hard pressed to find a beer at any restaurant under that price these days. Pretty silly comment.

$5 for a glass of PBR. OP is right that’s pricey. That’s not a top shelf beer. Taking customers out to lunch and dinner is part of my job and my sales territory is North America. I'm pretty familiar with what a beer cost in restaurants.

That's standard prices for any non-import in a BR restaurant.

Wish the lumber we import and sale had those kind of gross profit margins. Restaurants are using alcohol and appetizers as a way to boost profits with high labor cost and higher food cost. I totally get it, but that’s a profitable beverage for them to sale no doubt about it.
