My decision is to coach my team through the playoffs then make a decision afterwards.
Does Ole Miss fire him??
Does LSU move on??

Verge has already said he would allow the new coach to coach his current team through the playoffs.

Ole Miss will not fire him. They will pull the extension offer.

I don’t care what he does, just sign the daggum contract already

104.5 program director says Ole Miss will not allow him to coach postseason if he’s the LSU coach.

That is assuming that he is coming though. They are not going to wait until after to hire a coach.

If that’s the case. Why wouldn’t he finish out the season?? If he tells ole Miss he’s leaving after the season and they allow him to stay and coach the playoffs. If LSU agreed to wait. Why wouldn’t he stay until his season is over??

Nobody in their right mind would sign an extension with what he has in front of him. Even if he wasn’t being courted. Why? Sign extension now and then, possibly, win it all? No, go try to win it all THEN talk extension. He goes and wins it all, that extension is going to look a lot different. Such a stupid argument by LSU fans, as well.

That’s under the assumption that Lane is committed to coming to LSU. If he is you can let him coach out the season
If he’s noncommittal, you can’t wait until January to move on.

So, Matt Moscona. Trying to get your post more validity by being vague?

If he doesn’t commit to LSU and doesn’t commit to day at Ole Miss. then what happens???

We not getting lane

He is coming LSU…matter of how long LSU and Ole Miss are comfortable with him still coaching through the playoffs.
Posted on 11/29/25 at 1:40 pm to SG_Geaux
He is coming, he wants to finish what he started though.
Posted on 11/29/25 at 1:41 pm to SupermanSlim
Ole Miss would be smart to let him stay as long as possible. If they make a deep run, maybe he stays.
Posted on 11/29/25 at 1:44 pm to NashBamaFan
Lmao…you think Ole Miss is going to just pull out a new offer if he wins a natty that they were not willing to make before hand to keep him there?
They are maxing it out making him highest paid coach already.
Try harder.
