Was posted an hour after McShay learned of Lane having made his decision. He’s reminiscing and taking it in one last time before he leaves.

Also, Coach Monte was well known to be a true GENTLEMAN. Folks in the halls of old Miss are the complete opposite. Most are pompous, haughty, snobby, condescending, and downright delusional.

Exactly. I’ve been blessed enough to have travelled all over the world. LA people are just more welcoming and friendly than most anywhere else. I think once he experiences it as coach here and not a visiting team he may see the same.

I grew up in McComb, MS, and I could not wait to get the hell out of that place and on to LSU (1994).

Absolutely correct.

They actually think they are genteel Southern Patricians. The "Harvard of the South."

What a joke.

I’d want to get out too if that’s where I grew up. Really to anywhere else

Well you’re in old miss haughty, pompous, arrogant, snobby, condescending utopia there in Madison; I’ll give you that. I’d rather be dead than to even stop anywhere in that old miss haven.

Call it whatever you want. I would 100% rather raise my kids here than anywhere in Louisiana. Has nothing to do with LSU for what it’s worth. I believe Kiffin is going but that wasn’t the point of your post

Only Ole Miss people say that. The debate over who is the "Harvard of the South." Used to revolve around Duke and Vanderbilt, but Rice and Emory have also entered the conversation.

The lowest-ranked school among the four in the current US News rankings is Emory, at #24. Ole Miss and LSU are tied at #169. I guess LSU is also the Harvard of the South

I agree Lane is a troll and made a lot of wrong decisions in the past.

That being said his comments post game about wishing his dad was here and the tweet, anyone who has lost their dad understands he was sincere when he said he wished he was here.

Put yourselves in his shores yes different circumstances / money but the principles remain, the man has a tough life career decision to makes and really thinking about how is dad would have handled. To me that’s real life.

With that being said my dad would tell me to get the hell out of Ole Miss and get to LSU!
