There's no need to wait any more. Sexton told Verge to get your house in order last week. He straight up said you can't promise my client $90 million (closer to $100 million if the Tigers win big quickly and bonuses are unlocked) when you owe the last guy over half of the $100 million you promised him. Anyway Verge and the legal team got to work and within a few days got everything ironed out with BK's attorney obviously. Lane wants the Alabama job. That's the top of the mountain and that's just who he is. Lose to Auburn and Bama's out of the playoff and if they win in Jordan-Hare and then lose in ATL they still might be knocked out of the playoff. DeBoer and his entire staff will be gone next November if they miss the playoff again and it would present Kiffin with a golden opportunity. What he's been asking himself for weeks is if I work here one more year will they come knocking ? Lane really loves Oxford and what he and his staff have built but Ole Miss is Ole Miss and LSU is LSU at the end of the day. He burned some bridges while in Tuscaloosa. Saban and their big time boosters know all the shite he pulled when he was out of town running the Capstone credit card sky high and trashing hotel suites. That's before even mentioning how he checked out in late December/early January before he made the move to FAU. Their top brass will never hand him the car keys to the Crimson Tide program and Jimmy has hinted at it and probably outright told him that behind closed doors. He's matured a great deal these last 7 years and left all of that behind. All that being said, Congrats on your new head coach Tigers. I think he does very well down in Baton Rouge and has you guys in the CFB Playoff quickly and often.

So what’s the deal with Florida and why they’re so confident and the whole “MOU” ?

Florida and their sources are full of shite. All I've been able to come up with is Sexton's people leaking just enough info to their big boosters to ensure LSU and Ole Miss throw out the largest numbers possible.

Nah bro

They have a completely illegal, but totally legally binding, MOU that Kiffin signed like a month ago.

Yes. A man wanting to create a legacy wants to do it in Bear Bryant and Sabans shadow...

Get fricking real.

Those chains are binding too, thought not completely illegal to break.

If Lane had access to someone that had access to a law degree, the MOU could be broken with two signatures, one by Lane and one by literally anyone who shouts the word "witness" out loud on ANY public highway in the greater 48 states

Whose shadow do you think he's he going to build it in down in BR ? Leave Saban and swap Les Miles for Bear Bryant ?

Exactly.

Better to build a Saban like legacy where you dont have to live up to him and he's not in the office down the hall.

This dude has a slight hint of the tism! Alabama ain’t going to Atlanta this year, even if they win against auburn.

Those two are not the same.

Also, Bama is not better job than LSU. LSU and Bama are on par as the same level of job. Before Saban got there, Bama was not the program they are today and will it reach that level again.

Don't compare bear to Les. Saban built LSU... But only one Natty so lane can win two and be the greatest ever to coach LSU. Les was blessed with outstanding recruiters and a talent rich state. To be fair he put together extremely tough physical football teams that win or lose had respect among the SEC... But he was no bear or Saban...
