Managed to fry three birds without an incident…bit of a rarity for me…

I busted my gut eating too much per usual for this holiday.
I’m waiting to “heal” enough to eat some pie.

Was making potatoes gratin and sliced my thumb on a mandoline slicer. Had to go to the ER and wound up with 8 stitches. It hurts worse now than when the doc shot my thumb up with lidocaine. Needless to say, the potatoes gratin didn't get made and I was and hour late to my brother-in-laws house. What an idiot I am!
Doc said I was the 5th one to come in for cutting themselves so I'm not alone, there's a lot of idiots out there

I’m a med student and had a shift in the ER this morning. Saw 2 burn cases from turkey frying gone wrong. Also had several knife injuries

Mandolines are evil. I splashed a bit of barely not boiling stock on myself yesterday but that was it.

Funeral potatoes get their unique name from being a crowd-pleasing casserole served as a side dish at after-funeral luncheons (particularly in the culture of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints). As sad as that might sound, it shows how comforting and delicious this dish is to have become such a STAPLE. Many people also call them Cheesy Hashbrowns. These warm, cheesy potatoes with a crispy cornflake crumb topping make a great side dish to ham, turkey or chicken. I've also heard of many people who enjoy this dish for breakfast as a hash brown casserole, with eggs.

Using cornflakes as breading is peak white people in the 70s. Use panko.

Burned my forearm carrying the turkey down stairs and to my truck. Rubbed a little grease of it

That’s consistent with an article I read yesterday about most common reasons for Thanksgiving ER visits. When people do something just once a year, they tend to make mistakes.
