OD. I’m sure Jackson dabbled in some drugs, but he never really struggled.
EDIT: upon further review, he did struggle when much younger. But gave it up a while back because of the impact on his life and family. Good for him. But he has suffered some tragedies.
His mom, Jackson’s first wife committed suicide when Ethan was very young.
One of Brown’s hits, “fountain of sorrow“ was written in her memory.

quote:
“It is with deep sorrow that we share that on the morning of November 25, 2025, Ethan Browne, the son of Jackson Browne and Phyllis Major, was found unresponsive in his home and has passed away,” “We ask for privacy and respect for the family during this difficult time,” Jackson, 77, shared.
His mom, Jackson’s first wife committed suicide when Ethan was very young.

The Jackson Browne song written for his son Ethan is called "The Only Child". It appears on his acclaimed 1976 album, The Pretender. "The Only Child" This deeply personal song was written as a message to his young son, Ethan, following the tragic suicide of Browne's first wife and Ethan's mother, Phyllis Major, in 1976. The lyrics balance grief with hope and offer guidance to Ethan as he navigates life and loss.
One of Brown’s hits, “fountain of sorrow“ was written in her memory.

Jackson Browne. An incredible artist and songwriter. Running on empty, the pretender, Doctor my eyes, somebody’s baby, lawyers, in love, Stay, the load out.
Take it easy. Yes take it easy popularized by the Eagles.
Check out his song “these days” written at the age of 16.
