Cast Iron Griddle on Gas Stovetop vs Blackstone Flat Top?

Small family, not cooking for a hunting club or anything like that. I already have two grills on my deck, not sure I want a 3rd thing out there. But a Blackstone is very desirable and there's lots of good black Friday deals out there.
But a griddle is basically the same thing, cheaper, stores easily, and hell I could get two if one isn't enough in some strange instance I need to cook hibachi for 6 people.
What is the OT ruling?

Get the outdoor griddle. Skip the Blackstone, flimsy and will rust easy. I have the Weber Slate, built like a tank and we cook on it a couple times a week. Use it way more than I thought I would, love it.

I had a Blackstone knockoff for awhile. Never loved it as much as I thought I would.
I have a cast iron griddle and a nonstick griddle. Those get used multiple times per week.
Just keep it simple and get a griddle for your stovetop.

For three years I lived in a house enjoying a stovetop with a built-in griddle. We really missed it when we moved.
We bought a cast iron stove top griddle after a few months, and it has been one of the best cooking/kitchen purchases I have ever made.
I’m in a similar position. The Blackstone has been tempting, but I don’t know if I’d get enough use out of it, plus the griddle meets all our needs.

I have a 70 year old cast iron pan. It was my grandmothers so it could be even older than that. That thing will fry or grill anything you want.

Absolutely go with the cast iron griddle on gas stovetop. You can use it on your outdoor grill as well, of course.

I have one from my grandmother as well…it is a prized possession of mine.

I feel you on not wanting another cooking apparatus on the patio. I have 3 sitting out back now! I bought a flat top for my grill from Steelmade. My built-In pit was not on their list, so I had a custom sized one made. We use it a ton. Comes off easy and stores in a sleeve, out of the way. Their customer service was great.
They even make them for your stovetop inside.

Never had a problem with a skillet in a deer camp with a skillet and patience.
Blackstone is new soccer dad, city boy energy. There ain’t a Venn diagram that connects with a man that owns a tractor and a blackstone.

I have both
The inside griddle is carbon steel and sits on two gas burners. It gets used every day even if it’s just to make toast. The blackstone only gets used once a month or so if that. Just two people

Any recommendations?

I went the griddle route because I didn't want to take up even more space with a dedicated Blackstone. Griddle lives on my gas grill and works perfectly 10/10 would make the same decision again no doubt.
I use avocado oil, tallow, or lard.
