FBD Thanksgiving prep

Having a few while prepping pies and misc. sides for Turkey Day

Haven't started downing adult beverages yet, but have been prepping. Got the oyster dressing done as well as the shrimp stuffed mirlitons.
Later today it will be time to get the bird out of the brine, give it a quick rinse and dry, inject it with my personal blend of liquid seasoning and get it in the fridge on a rack overnight.
Tomorrow I will bake the homemade rolls and start the day lighting the smoker and downing a few Bloody Mary's.
Edited to add this: It is now 3:30 and I've started my first ice cold bottle of Yuengling, and plan to have several more before the night is done. Just got the turkey dried off and injected, so no cooking until the a.m.

This is something that was never part of our family thanksgiving meal. My mom, God rest her soul, cooked the best cornbread dressing that ever passed a set of teeth, but she never did oyster dressing.
Do you guys that cook oyster dressing use cornbread dressing as the base or dressing made with old french bread etc. ??

I make mine with stale French bread that is soaked in the oyster liquor (juice of the oysters).
I used 6 dozen oysters along with various vegetable and dry seasonings to make the dressing. Some here in N.O. also use ground meat in their oyster dressing as a stretcher but I never do as I prefer it to be true oyster dressing with oysters only as the protein in the dish.
