Isn’t he still the coach at UNT officially?

Morris is going to be a rock star. Supposedly, when he got to UNT, the first thing he did was reach out to the biggest booster and started eliciting funds for program upgrades.

Is this supposed to be some innovative practice?

"the body is still warm" comes to mind.

This guy seems like exactly what OKST needs.

A lot of coaches do the bare minimum and play golf and go on vacation a lot like BK

It's talked about all the time. Coach X doesn't like to recruit. Coach Y doesn't want to be involved in NIL.
New, younger coaches are likely focusing on coaching and roster build. From what I've read, he jumped in day one and focused on the broader aspects of program development which will foster long term sustained success.

We’re about to see the oil belt dominate in the NIL era.
