He'll do what he needs/wants to do. Has no effect on me whatsoever - there will be someone else

What he has done is only acceptable if he is leaving, otherwise, even Ole Miss should not want him.

Do you ever have anything positive to say?

I forced myself to like BK, but now he’s gone f’em, I won’t have to force myself to like Kiffin but if he stays at OM it won’t be hard to hate him.

I’m not going to love him even if he takes the job. Some of you get really wrapped up in the coach cult of personality. frick all that bullshite. I’ll support him because he’s our coach until he’s not, or it’s time for him to go.

TLDR; I really think we have crossed that bridge too far moment.
First off, Ole Miss isn’t dumb. We’ve already lived the bad version of this twice. Tuberville with the pine box line then at Auburn the next day. Lane with Auburn in 2022, long drawn out mess, and our whole season clearly fell apart at the end. You don’t get burned like that and then just wander into another coaching cycle with your eyes closed. I’m almost certain our admin has scenarios for “Lane stays” and “Lane leaves” locked and loaded. Letting him coach through the Egg Bowl doesn’t mean they’re clueless, it probably means they’d rather eat the drama than blow up the season right before the playoff push and portal.
Second, I absolutely buy that Lane might not even fully know what he wants yet. On one side he’s got Ole Miss: stability, control, success, a team on the verge of the playoff. On the other side he’s got LSU, Florida, maybe Auburn, maybe Bama: more money, more brand, maybe a higher ceiling, but way more pressure and way less patience. That’s not some obvious no-brainer either way. When the decision is that close, human beings don’t turn into robots, they get indecisive and weird. So yeah, I think he’s probably going back and forth and dragging everybody’s blood pressure with him.
Third, whether it’s on purpose or not, this delay absolutely ties up our rivals. While everyone’s screaming “we’re being held hostage,” look at who’s really stuck: LSU, Florida, Auburn. If they’re all sitting there thinking “we might get Lane, we might not,” they can’t really commit to Plan B or C. They’re burning days on their search while we still technically have our head coach, our staff, our recruiting operation and a shot at the playoff. Is it stressful for us? Yep. But it’s not like they’re sitting pretty either. They’re just quieter about their panic.
And then there’s the Lane factor himself. On paper you can say he’s just playing the leverage game: wait as long as possible, see what opens, squeeze every dollar out of whoever wants him. That’s normal business at this level. But his personality pours gasoline on it. He likes attention, he likes trolling, he’s not great at giving quick, clear answers, and he’s already got a history of messy endings. That’s where the “narcissist” read comes from. From our side, it looks like one guy’s ego and indecision are putting an entire fanbase, locker room, and recruiting class in limbo so he can keep every option open as long as possible. You don’t have to be a psychologist to understand why that rubs people the wrong way.
So no, I don’t think it’s as simple as, “He’s a genius playing chess” or “He’s just a clown screwing everything up.” It’s both. He’s good enough to put us on the edge of the playoff and high enough on everybody’s list that half the SEC is circling. And he’s chaotic enough that any time a job opens, it turns into an emotional hostage situation for Ole Miss all over again.
That’s the deal: we hitched our wagon to Lane Kiffin. You get the wins, the rankings, the national relevance, and you also get November rumors, flight trackers, and everyone trying to read tea leaves from his facial expressions. We might end up keeping him, we might not. But let’s not pretend this is only happening to us. While the rest of the league is waiting on Lane to make up his mind, they’re stuck too.

Love him in what way. I wanted him last cycle and will always think he’s an offensive genius and incredible game day coach, great instincts, etc.
But yes, I’ll hate him on any team not named LSU.

What about the fact that he has your team completely and needlessly distracted leading up to what could be the most important game in your program’s history? Just 4D chess?

Still? I don't love him now. I won't love him unless he's LSU's new coach.
In which case, I'll love him until I hate him.

I liked Kiffin before lsu was trying to get him.
Unless it comes out he flat out lied about coming to lsu I will still like him if he is elsewhere.
I think he should make a move given the shitstorm he has created at ole miss. Could be lsu. Could be Florida. Could be door #3.
