Lane Kiffin will not sign a contract until WELL after he arrives in Baton Rouge

If Lane comes, and I believe he will, here's how it's going to go:
Brian Kelly arrived at LSU in late November, but didnt sign his contract until April. You're not going to get "an ink is dry, contract is signed" report because its not and wont be until well after Lane arrives here.
Lane will all but certainly sign an MOA, or Memorandum of Agreement, which is more formal than a Memorandum of Understanding and IS binding, it almost works as a temporary contract. Perhaps he has signed one? I don't know, but the contract won't be signed for a while.
ETA: this is normal, and occurs everywhere! Just a clarification on what will likely occur.
ETA again: this is not me saying he's not a done deal when he gets here, just putting out the technical details of the contract signing process

I know that’s how things generally go, but does he still get paid in the interim?

When people say “signed” they are generally talking about a signed term sheet.
This has high level terms: contract tenor, salary, some base incentives, exclusivity clauses (so Lane can’t keep shopping elsewhere), etc.

That worked out well for Mike Price. It's rolling baby

Yep, clarified in the post that "ink is dry" CAN mean it's done.

IMO the MOA has been signed thats why all the insiders feel confident. Now everything is about is Ole Miss going to allow him to coach the playoffs. In a perfect world, Ole Miss wins on Friday and then the announcement on Saturday is that hes is going to LSU but will coach through the playoffs. Maybe Ole Miss already has his replacement as well.

If Lane Kiffin moves to Baton Rouge, he isn’t leaving you moron

I'm afraid most are misreading what I said
A contract will NOT be signed immediately, but Lane will be our coach. Lane will move to Baton Rouge and coach normally. I was just pointing out how this goes legally for those who may have been curious

Well then we are already too late. Finchmeister said Lane already signed the Florida MOA

Wait, are you claiming a MOA is more formal than an actual contract?
