Want to understand why Kiffin would leave Ole Miss,,

Its simple dollars and cents as the primary reason.
Ole Miss doesn't generate the kind of money LSU and Florida do.
When CNBC ranked the top 75 college athletic department valuations:
College Sports Valuations - CNBC
13. Louisiana State University $916M $200M SEC Baton Rouge, LA
14. University of Florida $865M $189M SEC Gainesville, FL
29. University of Mississippi $651M $142M SEC Oxford, MS
Ole Miss generates ONLY 71% of the revenue that LSU does. Whether Lane Kiffin stays or not, that won't change. Financially, Ole Miss simply can't compete with LSU or Florida.

The LSU brand is far larger than Ole Miss and the ceiling is much higher.
Its that simple.
People underestimate all the support staff ar LSU than Ole Miss simply could never afford to hire.

I’ll take it a step further.
If LK stays at OM, it’ll be because they matched whatever ridiculous offer that whomever else gave him. He will get a massive raise no matter what he does.
Ridiculous massive raises carry with them ridiculous massive expectations — the same kinds of ridiculous massive expectations that got BK fired despite having a winning record and a winning pedigree. Win now, get championships, or go home.
Make no mistake about it, he’d have the same pressures and same expectations going forward at OM as he would have anywhere else, despite OM’s record over the past century. So the question then becomes where he has the best chance to maintain his present success. I can’t think of anyone not named Nick Saban (maybe Kirby Smart) who has managed to achieve that sustained success.
So wherever he winds up, he’d better wind up where his odds of maintaining are greatest, else he’ll be out of the door in a couple of seasons and he can do his hot yoga all day long with no other responsibilities.
Is that at OM or at LSU or UF? I don’t see anyone else saying it, but LSU’s recruiting base isn’t *that* far away from his present base. He likely already has many of the recruiting relationships 5 hours down the road that he has now as opposed to the state of Florida.
That’s his call. Only LK has a feel for where that destination actually is.

Maybe, but the OSU job isn't open.

Add in larger Stadiums at LSU and Florida, and better facilities.

Look at every win Ole Miss had this season. Every remotely quality win was a one possession win. Could have easily gone the other way.
Maybe that was a factor.

This is what people are overlooking. Lane has done a great job at Ole Miss. but a lot of people are acting like ole miss is an elite program. And they aren’t.
Even with the highest recruiting budget in the country, I have a hard time seeing a lot of big time recruits choosing ole miss over the top schools such as Ohio St, Georgia, Bama, LSU, Texas, Oregon, etc. I just don’t see it happening. Especially when those schools match the offer. Some will, but not enough to make ole miss a true contender every year.
And if they make lane the highest paid coach in the country with the highest recruiting and NIL budget, you gotta win a natty. And Ole Miss is not a program you want to be at where a natty is a must.

If you want your bubble popped, compare endowments of Florida, LSU and Ole Miss. Hint, Ole Miss and LSU are close to the bottom. Florida is fifth in the SEC. Don’t even look at Texas, it’s depressing.
Ole Miss is just a small school in a small state. We are a big school in a slightly bigger state with a much larger athletic budget. Kind of telling about priorities.

Recruiting. Hard to build out of the portal year after year. LSU is always in !top 10 in recruiting.

It ain’t really money. It’s other resources.
Ol Piss will get in the playoffs every once in a while. LSU with the right staff can be there damn near every year.
Talent availability trumps the money difference at this point.
