Everyone’s talking about the contract offers being the same. While that may be true in theory, Dellenger stated LSUs contract was a “incentive-laden deal”. We could be giving the same base salary offer but a 100% better incentive sided salary.

I don’t understand why more programs don’t offer high incentive contracts. Just making the playoffs is worth millions of dollars. If you make it to the championship it would be worth it to offer a 2 million bonus or more.

The money to Lane isn't the deciding factor. It's the ability to get talent in the door consistently year on year.

LSU and Florida are leaps and bounds better at being able to do that than Ole Miss.

Because we have a free market. Why would Lane accept an incentive-laden deal if someone else is willing to offer him guaranteed money?

I’m all on board for this. Any coach that’s worth his salt would jump at incentives at LSU. The world is your oyster.
