If Oxford, Mississippi is the “Velvet Ditch”, then what is Baton Rouge?

Velvet Ditch is Oxford since it’s easy to fall into but hard to leave. What’s Baton Rouge then? The Bayou Back Alley? The Capital City Crossfire? The Swamp Trap? The Red Stick with Red Flags?

If it's so great why do the people that went to school there, not stay there. Like rich NOLA & BR & ATL, Dallas & Nashville kids. They all go back home or elsewhere. No one stays in that one horse town.

BR is perfect. Smooth roads, no crime, pleasant weather, great public schools. Couldn’t think of a better place to be.

A metro area of nearly 900,000 covering four parishes and 13 suburbs bathed in crime, heavy traffic, horrendous summer heat, flooding, graffiti, LITTER, a public school system so bad it defies common sense, a Brain Drain, underfunded universities, under-staffed police, an acute teaching shortage, minimal jobs and low wages, a Walmart and Dollar General Store on every block, homeless on every street corner, and, did I mention the LITTER? And of course, we can't forget the LITTER!
