I love that we have the details of the structure of the deal now…

But after yesterday/today I kind of thought we were closer than this to be honest. Seems like he’s still contemplating two offers. I was kind of hoping a decision had been made on his end and I’m not sure I feel it has been based on the wording in the report…

Kiffins OM contract says he has to inform the OM AD in writing that he is meeting with other teams. Everything so far has been through representation. Like UF's meeting last night was with "Kiffin's representatives". Kiffin submitted that paper today and now can meet in person, that's why the numbers are coming out now.

I think a decision was very close to being made today then Lane got cold feet. I actually think this an intentional leak from LSU to perhaps twist Lane’s arm a bit. Apply a touch a pressure.

My impression that seems reasonable is that he wanted to finish the regular season with his team and coach the egg bowl. I’d expect no official announcement until after that game next weekend

Yes.
If he’s in a 1+ hour meeting with his AD and president under these circumstances and the result is not a signed extension that’s been on his desk for weeks, he’s gone and they’re just negotiating how that happens.
Whether it’s UF or LSU or even NFL, Kiffin ain’t coaching the land sharts next year.

I think this has been in the works since before BK was fired. Just my opinion, but the weird way Landry jumped in and started running his mouth. And the swiftness with which Scott Woodward was relieved.
After A&M embarrassed us at home, I think that is when LSU (quietly)reached out to Sexton to gauge interest and found it.
