Has there ever been a coach that carries as much drama as Kiffin?

If LSU does land him - great hire.
But in Oakland - Al Davis and drama.
Tennessee - one year, talked shite to Urban and left in the middle of a riot.
USC - fired on the tarmac.
Alabama - let go before the national title game.
Now this.
He’s a good coach but what has he won as a head coach to make him worth the drama and bullshite that comes with him?

You have enough to worry about with Katelynn

This won’t be a popular post but I agree with basically all of that
The current allure is turning Ole Miss into a competitor and assuming he’s turned over a new leaf - this chaotic coaching search doesn’t help support that narrative
He’s the best available guy though, which is why we are seeing the fireworks, and in his defense, it can’t be an easy thing to manage without abandoning your current team completely

And some LSU fans think he wins 2 national titles with little to back that up

He’s won a conference title in a major conference, won a playoff game and made a national title game.
His accomplishments over the last five years outweigh Kiffin’s.
LSU fans take it as a shot but it’s an honest question.

I think it's the allure of hoping that he will mature at the job you're hiring him for. Maybe the "we can give him more here so he will be happier" train of thought.

Kelly was weird, boring, and slowly drained the life out of LSU.
At least Kiffin is exciting. I’m ready to have fun again during football season.

This is bizarre to me because it’s the same attitude and approach that made LSU fans hype up Kelly.
“Notre Dame was holding him back.”
“Ole Miss is holding him back.”
I know Kiffin is younger but the situations mirror each other.

Have you ever thought about shutting up?

Most of us are aware of your LSU derangement syndrome.

And none of that has happened at Bama.

We didn’t think Kelly would show up and treat this like retirement. Hopefully Kiffin continues to coach his arse off.

Now this.
Is he causing the drama on this or are we? He is by far the most coveted coach in a cycle with a lot of top tier openings. People are in bushes at the airport taking pictures of his family and stalking his kids online

There have been many! Difference is- hardly any of them could achieve generational wealth making the wrong decision.
Kiffin doesn’t have that issue.

That’s my point - why?
Because he’s won at Ole Miss? Because outside of that success he’s been an average to good head coach.
He’s had multiple losses every season as a head coach and his only titles are CUSA titles. And he’s being made the highest paid coach in the sport.

Eh, that's a pretty big distinction to wave off.
He's 10 years younger than Kelly when he was hired. Those are like the prime years for a head coach.

OP is spot on. I would rather take the risk with an unknown like Sumrall or others vs a known coach like kiffin who doesn't have major success

He has had very few issues, if any at ole miss.
What is going on now is a result of the new NCAA calendar. Nothing to do with him or his behavior. He has been a HC candidate now for multiple years without people questioning his character.

I am not saying that is how I feel about it. I'm saying I think big egos think that their place is the best place and Lane is the shiny toy.
