Why else would the AD make that statement that a decision will be made AFTER the egg bowl next Saturday. Kiffin would have shot that down quick if he was staying

Hopefully not for LSU. So many people seem enamored with him, but he's not even won an SEC title at Ole Miss in almost 5 years.

1. It's ole miss. Nobody is winning there.

2. I understand people not thinking he's the 2nd coming of Christ but when you look at who is available and all the team's looking for a coach right now, it's clear Lane is the best option. And you should want the best option.

How many Big 10 titles have Nick Saban won at Michigan State before LSU hired him.

How many SEC titles had Kirby won before Georgia hired him.

How many ACC titles did Dabo win when Clemson hired him.

Big difference....how many head coaching jobs did Saban, Smart and Dabo have before getting the LSU, Georgia, Clemson gigs? The answer is 1 and that is Saban head coach of Michigan State. Kiffin has had a lot of head coaching gigs and still not won shite.

If he were staying, then why wasn’t there an announcement after Kiffin met with the Ole Miss AD, and Board toda, that he agreed to terms to the extension that has been in front of him for over 2 weeks?????

Forgot about Toledo....but those were small schools compared to LSU, Georgia, and Clemson. Kiffin has been head coach of two big programs...Tennessee and USC and didnt win shite there but now he's some kind of guru that will win at LSU?

No he wouldn't. He would continue to drag it out as long as he could to keep and increase leverage. If he wanted to stay at Ole Miss, he would drag it out to make Ole Miss think he was thinking about leaving, so they'd then throw more money at him to get him to stay. Not saying this is what is happening here, but I disagree with the idea that he would have shot it down quick.....(He's not a dummy....and Sexton definitely knows how this game is played.)

Even if he stays this can’t help in recruiting. I see no upside of Ole Miss doing this charade and keep Kiffin

Go get a coordinator...its not rocket science...it worked out for Clemson and Georgia hiring coordinators....in fact LSU's last Natty was with a head coach that they hired who was a coordinator. Why does LSU feel the need to swing for the fences?....first Brian Kelly...now Lane Kiffin and I know Coach O was head coach at ole miss but that was almost 10 years before he was hired as head coach of LSU.

It also ignores the situations at both schools when he took over and the era difference which had much lower turnover rates and more time allotted to turn teams around.

Putting Kiffin on Sabans level....lmao. Kiffin has had 5 head coaching jobs and doesnt even have a conference championship to show for it.

Orgeron wasn’t a coordinator and I’m wondering why you think the coach needs to fit into a certain box? Just get the best possible person for the job regardless of silly qualifiers. Who would you want?
