Pluribus, a Gilligan Turd.

Big Gilligan Fan, bigger expectations, but people seem to be contorting themselves into pretzels to find value here. Rhea Seehorn deserves so much better.
Three episodes in and there is nothing to indicate a salvageable series. Ridiculous plot points, Stepford cast, and our hero is annoying AF.
I’ll keep watching in deference to it’s creator, but I have a feeling the leash is short for even diehard Gilligan fans.

Yeah, i'm kinda with you at the moment. I'll finish it and see if my opinion changes by the end.

Good grief. I get that the 3rd episode slowed down the momentum (still not bad tv though) but the opening pair of episodes were incredible. To call it a turd at this point is a complete overreaction. Especially when considering who is involved.

Disagree. I love it. To each their own tho.

Dumping on stuff people like is MY turf, I'll have you know!
One 'meh' episode isn't enough for me to bail. E 3 was still better than most of what passes as 'great!' TV.
I'm in it for the duration. Then we'll see.

I was out from the beginning. Might try to binge watch it later.

I tried, but after 3 episodes I think I’m done. None of the episodes impressed me. If people are really talking it up by season’s end, maybe I’ll go back and finish it.

I'll finish this season, but the first three episodes were just okay to me... the whole premise of it just isn't really up my alley.. we'll see..

This style of slow storytelling is going to be difficult to sell to today's audience.
I'm loving the show but I like slow developing stories and I like having one episode per week. I don't think most people will say that though. Streaming and bingeing is what people are used to now. Even Gilligan has admitted that Netflix saved Breaking Bad, because no one really watched it until season 3 or 4 and everyone was bingeing it on Netflix and realizing how good of a show it was when it could be digested all at once. They weren't patient enough to take it in on TV and they gave up on it. By the time season 5 rolled around, it was the hottest thing out there and people were glued to the TV for one hour a week getting whatever they could, but it took awhile to get to that point.
By today's standards, Pluribus for most people is going to be a wait till the season ends and binge it kind of thing. I don't think Gilligan really cares though. I'm happy he's sticking to his roots and I'm sure he's got some things up his sleeve, but they won't be thrown in your face when you want them to be.

I enjoyed the weekly episodes of Chief of War more than when I binge watched the entire series a 2nd time.

The amount of plot and "answers" given through 3 episodes would fill 20 episodes of most standard shows.

You would think he would have earned more trust than this. It's been slow, yes. But this show can literally go anywhere.
