My family has been doing this since I can remember and it produces a product so moist and delicious that Im surprised more folks dont try this method. Its superior to any other turkey Ive tried. We inject it with various marinades over the years but Cajun Injector Creole Butter is usually the go to.

Everything I've ever grilled/smoked/bbq'd on a Weber Kettle, has been on par with everything I've ever cooked on a Primo ceramic, a PK grill, those park grills you end up with at a hotel/condo, an Oklahoma Joe offset, or a Traeger. It usually takes a lot more attention, focus, and often time but can absolutely be done as well on the kettle as anywhere.

The ceramics edge them out in lifespan and longevity, but its impossible to beat out the Weber Kettle in value and flexibility.

Makes sense, heat source closer to the dark meat so the breast on top doesn’t get dry.

I didn't realize that cooking a turkey on a weber was such a novel idea Been doing It that way since my dad showed me how to do it in the 70's when I was a kid. Except, there was no counting of briquets and dear old dad started the fire with gasoline with a waterman in the middle!

Definitely less monitoring on a ceramic, because it is much easier to control temperature and airflow, but a weber kettle can produce the same level of food on par with a ceramic if the person cooking knows what they are doing.

I’ve spatchcocked turkeys and used my gas grill as a second oven for years, comes out good every time.

The last 2 years I've switched from frying to using the Weber turkey cradle in my gas grill and it's been great.
