Bunch of politicians are going to be busy patting each other on the back but this mess is largely responsible for NOLA being a murder capitol.

quote:

A federal judge ended her 12-year oversight of the New Orleans Police Department on Wednesday, clearing the city and Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick to run the city's police force free of court monitoring under a 492-blueprint for reform that officials say has helped transform a department once mired in scandal.

U.S. District Judge Susie Morgan issued her order shortly before 1 p.m. inside a packed auditorium at Loyola Law School, filled mostly with current and former police brass and city officials there to celebrate.

I really hope this helps to purge the seedy element on Canal Street and the first 100 blocks of Bourbon, Royal, and Chartres.

If a sane human chooses to go to that shithole, on purpose, then they are not of sound judgement.

The level of how bad NO is, can't be measured. I wouldn't give that city a single dollar of my money, ever again. Let them just implode and die.

That's exactly what I always say. Prior to the current throttling of NOPD, they ran the Quarter with an iron fist. One can argue civil liberties all day long but you couldn't argue that it was safe down there. These days, I used to say "I don't cross Canal after dark" but now I say "I don't go down there at all."

The idea of a shooting on Bourbon used to be unthinkable and now it happens on a regular basis. They need to put the genie back in the bottle.

Bring back the horse cops dragging trouble makers through the quarter and beating the shite out of them just to leave them down by the river!

Yep, everyone who has ever stepped foot in New Orleans has died.

NO has many awful issues, but letting it die would be very bad for Louisiana.

I don’t know how to quantify how many black lives this judicial folly destroyed, but it was a bunch. Frick the judge, Mitch and the Obama DOJ.
