What I see is this: Saban/Sexton are really pushing for Lane to go to LSU.

Lanes family wants UF. Would Lane really listen to Saban? I mean do we even know if they have a good relationship. If we don’t find out this week or early next week, we might as well move to plan B (if we even have one)

Not the first person to say this. Idk if its true or not but it does feel that way.

I think it depends on how bad his family wants Gainesville or doesn’t want Baton Rouge… ones gotta think if they’re willing to compromise and they’re okay with Baton Rouge that lane is gonna be the next LSU coach… the job is just miles ahead of Florida

Both towns are dumps

Saban is allowing kiffin to reset the market before he demands a higher price tag to coach again. And we will pay it.
Sexton is laughing at all of college football right now.

Baton Rouge is a pretty shitty place, but Gainesville ain’t exactly nice either. When the bread winner of the family is pulling g in several million a year there aint many places that aren’t awesome.

Baton Rouge today is not the Baton Rouge of 20 years ago.

I don’t understand the whole town aspect of this?
Kiffins family will all be hanging out in the nicest parts of town in both cities.
And their kids will be in the nicest schools in both as well.
He’s not going to be hanging out on Plank road? Why would he give a shite about ghetto parts of town when his only perspective will be the nice wealthy areas?

Baton Rouge is a great place to raise a family if you’ve got money, which he’ll have a ton of.

IF this is truly the situation (and I think it’s plausible), what man in his right mind, particularly an alpha college football coach, would go to a place because his EX WIFE wants him to go over where he wants to go?

I think my point was the mother of his children’s ties to Gainesville and if they wanna really be there for whatever reason. But I agree that if ur making 14 mil a year it don’t matter what city you in

No one knows where Lane wants to go. Lane's Agent and Saban say LSU his ex-wife says Florida. No where has it mentioned what he wants. He might want Florida he might want to stay at Ole Miss, he might want LSU. But what is clear is what the people around him want. TBD on what he wants but he will 100% make his decision with his family apart of the process.

Verge says he talks frequently with Saban. What if recent talks weren't about Saban returning per se but about coaches he'd recommend to LSU? Or what it would take to get Lane Kiffin? Besides Houston Nutt, of course. There are plenty of examples (Gus Malzahn to Florida State as OC, recently) where a coach/AD talks to another head coach about a particular candidate, only for the other head coach to say, what about me, I'd be interested.

Florida is more of a basketball school. LSU is more football centric than UF
