Is Tiger nation betting that LKiffin can do something that he has never done as a Head Coach, winning a championship other than Conference USA(2)???????

If we're limiting ourselves to coaches that have won championships we're toast. With that said I don't think kiffin is worth the hype

Should be able to....great facilities, good NIL money, good recruiting base, great support staff. Has to be more than anywhere he has coached. Look how far he's gotten Ole miss this year. Should be able to take that next step at lsu

Short answer, yes.
However, that begs a counterquestion. If not Lane, then who do you propose LSU hire that has won at least an SEC championship? Or even Big 10, Big 12 or ACC championship?

Many have reasons why a guy should NOT be hired. But fewer have reasons who should be hired in their place.
Had TD existed in 1999 the members would have collectively HATED the Saban hire. A Big 10 coach with a mostly mediocre record who neither won anything of note, nor couldn't even beat the coach LSU had just fired. One that was demanding a ridiculous $1M per year salary to boot!!!

By this reasoning, the only coaches who are acceptable are Kirby and Day. That’s just not realistic.

Every national championship coach LSU has hired did not even have a conference championship before coming to LSU, except Saban, who tied for first in the MAC. Brian Kelly did, though.

The Saban hire wasn’t really a bunch of kicking and screaming, but more of this dude is boring. I was actually one of his biggest fans because we needed an outsider that would fix the culture - catastrophe syndrome, brook trout, etc.
