If he wants to stay there, it won't be all hearts and flowers. sounds like OM is already bitter. they may have made it a no win for lane, especially if he was just playing the field for a BIG raise.

don't know if that helps us. What a screwup. I could understand OM if they weren't going to the playoffs. You can never figure people.

Kiffin is not someone you give an ultimatum to, and Ole Miss is not a school that can give them out like they are Alabama or Ohio State lol

Ol Miss is like a mid chick with a hot guy. They know he can do better, he knows he can do better so she does everything to keep him happy. I’m talking kneeling at the front door when he gets home happy, the trouble is at some point that gets old and he moves on to the hot girl he should be with.

You’re right, this testing the waters didn’t have to be so performative and public.

Obviously it was his choice to handle it this way.

I hope OM kisses and makes up.

Saban flirted with the NFL nearly every season after 2001. LSU fans didn't sour. That's because he was doing the same thing Kiffin is doing at OM...winning at a level not seen in those parts in decades. There were two occasions Miles was going to Michigan. LSU fans didn't sour...until he started falling short of expectations.

OM fans may not like the current situation or feeling like their HC might get poached every season. But that is a byproduct of winning. The alternative is a stable HC...because he's not winning enough

I actually respect Ole Miss for giving him the ultimatum. From their point of view it makes sense, you don’t want someone leading the program with one foot in and one foot out. Good on them for not letting this drag out. This also helps us tremendously, because we will get clarity next week one way or another and can move on if Lane decides to stay at Ole Miss or go to UF.

Clown move by the OM admin. If they would have simply let this thing play out naturally im not sure we would or could have waited for the playoff run.

Thanks for the treat, stupid

It's a win for UF and LSU, we will get our answer by Thanksgiving.

If Kiffin stays at Ole Miss I expect it to galvanize that group and they’ll start off the next season in the top 10

That won't last. They would forget with some quickness if he stays. Ole Miss fans will be beating their chest, saying that OM is a better job than LSU or UF before you finish reading whatever report says he's staying.

Alright I know it doesn’t work as well for your analogy, but need to get your priorities straight if you’re framing this as the lesser option

It will continue like it did for Saban at Michigan state. Eventually he will be told to carry his arse like Saban was in 1999 by the Michigan state President.

They got tired of begging Saban to stay.

It’s true long term. There’s only so many that matter. I was seeing a chick and she was a great sexual partner, but that was it. I mean if I called she would drive 90 minutes to “be there”. She was somewhere around a real life 6 or 7 as a stretch and after a few weeks I realized it wasn’t enough.

Don't believe that. Don't believe everything you are hearing about this.
