I’ll be there for my usual Christmas vacation this year. Already have reservation at Herbs & Rye and Oscar’s.

Not really married to Oscar’s. May try to walk in at Golden Steer when they open just to say I’ve been. But not sure. I hear good things about Esther’s Kitchen. And although I did mention Golden Steer, with that exception, I’m not really interested in spending $100+ on a ribeye or filet (Oscar’s is much less expensive than, say Papi, SW, or Prime).

I like French and Italian (been to Scarpetta [9/10] and Battista’s [4/10]). Not interested in sushi/Asian. Maybe a little value as well.

Been to Vegas a dozen times. So many choices. I’m gonna hit. Village Pub, In n Out, and maybe Hofbrauhaus. I know all the big names. I’m just curious what y’all have had to eat that has impressed y’all.

Thanks.

Can you just walk in at the Golden Steer? How does that work?

From what I understand, you have to be there at Open and you can get a seat at the bar if there are not too many people ahead of you. They don’t take reservations for one, so that’s how singles get a seat.

The Italian place in the Bellagio is great - Lago?

And the Golden Steer is a must in my opinion.

If the weather is nice, we like to go to Spago at the Bellagio and sit outside on the terrace overlooking the fountain.
It may be a little chilly for that in December.

I love Esther's Kitchen, especially at that price point.

Another Italian joint I love off strip is Piero's. That's probably the only restaurant we eat at almost every trip.

Golden Steer is good but certainly not the quality of the other steakhouses you mentioned. Another good steakhouse that is below the price point of the higher end steakhouses is The Steak House at Circus Circus......of course, you have to walk through the dump that is Circus Circus to get there......

Scratch Oscar's off the list and head to Barry's and get the rib cap. That place is one of the best steakhouse's in Vegas. The atmosphere is top notch to go along with the food.

Had Barry’s a few weeks ago and we had a solid meal. Still kicking myself for not getting the ribeye cap. It was game 7 of the World Series and the place was going wild. Great atmosphere.

Golden Steer is a must.

Bugsy & Meyer's makes a great steak.

Hexx is a good brunch.

Blondie's if you want some chicken wings and beer and not go broke.

Was not impressed at all by Amalfi (Bobby Flay joint)

Golden Steer was a great experience. Good luck getting in without a reservation, it sounds like it’s harder than it’s ever been.

OP said no Asian, but 3 of my go-to places in Vegas are Asian. Lotus of Siam, Best Friend and Din Tai Fung

Joe's stone crab in Caesar's Forum shops is a must hit when my wife and I visit. The madagascar shrimp appetizer with the dipping sauce is excellent

We stayed at Park MGM for the LSU game but didn't get a chance to go to Best Friend. Heard it was great.

They also have some fantastic off menu items you have to ask for. The risotto is one of them. And you have to get an drink from the old fashioned cart, that's a must!

If you like Italian, I recommend Piero’s.
It is across from the convention center a little off the strip. It is an old fashioned place right out of the Frank Sinatra era. It is popular with locals and celebrities. The osso bucco is outstanding.
