My enjoyment level has risen greatly by hitting the MUTE button. The, talking heads have reached the level of the zebras of my contempt.

It’s usually not the play-by-play man who overdoes everything, but the “color commentator”. Worst ever (thankfully retired) was Gary Danielson. But he knows football, gotta hand that to him. Next worst - Tony Romo. 3rd worst - Troy Aikman. Too many of the color guys just don’t know when to zip it.

CFB is mainly background “noise” these days

Jesse Palmer is the worst. he just won't shut up.

They're not all bad. I like Todd Blackledge

I do this....
Go to YouTube on your phone and find LSU radio network live. They are about five seconds ahead of the TV, so hit the pause button on the YouTube feed, count to five slowly and then allow the radio broadcast sound, mute the TV, and you are in business.

Umm Gary Danielson hasn’t retired..He literally hasn’t gone anywhere

Which commentators are you referring to?

You just named the top 3 people imo. Danielson, although not the greatest, just brings up the nostalgia of watching prime time CBS games. Romo brings excitement and aikman is so knowledgeable. This is obviously subjective but i enjoy those games more than the other commentators in the sport.

Thanks for the tip

There’s only one announcer that I hate.
Greg McElroy
There’s just something about him that annoys the shite out of me almost every single comment he makes
Different take… I don’t hate Gus Johnson, I actually like him and his energy…. I just wish he’d tone it down on screaming like someone won the Super Bowl on a 5 yard gain in the first quarter

That and constant commercials. Even minor breaks in action (short time outs, minor injuries) are immediately tossed off for commercials. It's getting hard to watch

I think it is Skycast that televises games on Hulu without announcers and minimal commercials. You can leave the volume on and hear the crowd and stadium announcer. Great way to watch a game without all the meaningless chatter from the booth.

Who's the Fox guy that sounds like he's having a brain aneurism every time something mildly exciting happens? Overdramatic and annoying as hell.

My wife started watching in silence. It’s caught on with me.

I agree with you. Todd Blackledge has been my favorite color commentor for years. The problem is he on NBC and even before that didn't do that many SEC games. But yeah, he doesn't talk more than the play-by-play guy which is the problem with many of those analyst guys.
A guy who is hideous IMO it RG III. Talks about irrelevant stuff like his cars, etc. He also has an annoying word he used way too much. "Boom".

Don't conflate the amateur tendencies of CFB screamers, with guy's who at least understand the intricacies of the NFL

Bless you for that. Been trying to figure out how to sync tv and radio sound for years.
