I don't understand the lovefest with Kiffin.

He never stays long at any place. He's the grass is greener elsewhere coach. He has never head coached a team to the BCS or CFP.
Many LSU fans here denigrate Miles for the coeds rumor and innuendo, but turn a blind eye to Kiffins rumored coeds escapades. Why is that?
Saban, Hartline, and Golesh are much better candidates over Kiffin imo.

Agree. He’s had too many huge opportunities in his now long arse career and has won nothing anywhere. Just has a reputation for being an “offensive guru” because he doesn’t run a Les Miles up-the-gut on 3rd and long for a 1 yard gain offense?

He barely beat the worst Fla team I’ve seen in all the years lsu has played them

Glad you think the best coach of all time is a better candidate.
Kiffin is clearly the most accomplished head coach at a major program who is possibly available and knows the SEC. It’s not hard to figure out.

Meh. He had that rep(deservedly) in his younger days, but he’s far more stable now. If he comes to LSU, the only place he’d leave for is the NFL, and I don’t think he’s interested. He would have tried the coordinator route by now.
Kiffin might not be THE answer, but he’s the hottest guy available with a lot of upside and solid track record. If LSU doesn’t sign him, whoever does (except ole wish; there’s only so much juice to squeeze out of that turd) will be seen as on the fast track.

Never forget Saban fired Kiffin before a NC game, and lost, because Kiffin's focus was elsewhere.

OK, remove Saban for a moment
Now you’re quickly down to two coaches who have far less head, coaching experience than Kiffin
No, we don’t know about the rumors about Kiffin and the coeds but at least if true he is an unmarried man not a married man. There is a difference I would say.
Still bad but nonetheless it’s not adultery against his wife.
Kiffin did have a girlfriend for four years that he recently broke up and it’s rumored that he’s getting back together with his ex-wife
I think that’s an incredible development that I’m sure makes their children extremely happy
Kiffin has stopped drinking (5years) and he works out and he eats really clean and he looks better than he has in years at the age of 50
So he’s got the best résumé out there. It’s filled with success and failure, indeed.
But now that he has sort of rebuild himself now having the opportunity at a place like LSU would give him the best chance to achieve the pinnacle in coaching
He worked for Pete Carroll. He worked for Nick Saban. His dad was a lifetime NFL coach.
Kiffin has a remarkable amount of experience and knowledge
There isn’t anyone like him available…
He’s finally ready for prime time

So the Goat…..a guy who has never been a head coach, and barely a coordinator…….and a guy who is 21-15 career as a head coach…who has also never been to the cfp, despite having an easier path, is a better candidate?

So Saban lost a natty because he wasn't focused and has his mind on his kiffy boo.
LSU fans are the bestest. Not a dumber group of people out there.

How do you not understand? He's taking Ole Miss(Yes, that Ole Miss) to the playoffs. If you don't understand what an accomplishment that is, then you'll never understand.

Kiffin was indeed released of his duties prior to Natty……. What are you disagreeing with? And yes, it cost Bama/Saban a Natty cause they would have won otherwise…..Sark sucks

He beat Florida and LSU this year at ole miss!
Ole miss is the doormat of the SEC. He has them being a consistent winner

We've all seen Kiffin's (age 50) upside as a HC with the Raiders, Tn, USC, FAU, and Ole Miss.
I'd rather see LSU take a chance with Hartline age 38 or Golesh age 41, as the better way to go. These guys could easily be here for the next 10-15 years. You can never say that about Kiffin.

I agree but it’s all relative to who’s available and beside the top guys who most likely won’t leave he’s in the top group
Posted on 11/16/25 at 7:21 am to extremelsu
How many SEC West titles does he have at Ole Miss? How many SEC conference championships does he have at Ole Miss?

He fired him because he accepted a head coaching job, at FAU, lol. Make sure if you’re gonna post a BS reason to not hire Kiffin, you’re intellectually honest about the reasons. The man wanted to begin his HC journey on his redemption journey. Fools like you should work in Media.

The only reason he was let go by Saban was because he accepted a head coaching job. Let’s not act like he suddenly became flaky again. He wanted the chance to Coach his own team again so he made the same choice that many coordinators make year after year.

So what? In the last 65 years the only coaches LSU has had that lasted more than 5 years are Charles McClendon and Les Miles. besides the only “greener” grass would be the NFL, he could go there now if he really wanted to.

Well the only coach LSU has hired since the BCS started that had coached a team to either of those was Brian Kelly, how’d that work out for ya?
There are no guarantees for any hire
