Was supposed to get called up next week. Got this message yesterday. The good news:
The not so much:

quote:
The jury selection for which you have been summoned has been continued or resolved. This means it is no longer necessary for you to appear for the jury selection.
The not so much:
quote:
Your name and juror number may be put back into the pool of prospective jurors for the remaining period of your jury service term.

Been on 3 times and had a jury trial once. Got dinner during deliberations though.

I throw them in the trash. My city just snail mails them, so they can't say for certainty that you even received it since you didn't have to sign for it like you do with registered mail.

Dear Mr Torch:
This is Collin County Jury Services. We want to let you know you have been dismissed and are no longer needed for your upcoming jury duty, there is no need to attend. Thank you, Collin County Jury Clerk
Freaking court house is 45 minutes away

It's a pain in the arse but something we should all do when asked. Imagine your kid being on trial for something and you get the jury that's there for the $13 a day cause they need the money. Those are the people that show up every time.

I have wanted to serve on a jury my entire life. The problem is that the couple times that I have been called, I knew one or both of the attorneys and was excluded for cause. I must have been removed from the pool because I haven’t gotten a summons in almost 20 years.

If you to stupid to not know how to get out of Jury duty, you to stupid to serve on one.

I got called about a year ago. I did everything I could to get out once I was in selection, because it was a domestic case (he said, she said.)
Wanted no part of that.

Some people feel it is their civic duty to serve. I ended up on a 5 day rape trial and it was difficult.
But if I were a victim or being charged, I would want someone like me on the panel

I have been struck every time I have been selected for jury duty. Only once did I make it to the questionnaire and interview process and then was struck and let go.
In my last selection group there were about 150 of us in the holding tank. After 15 or so names were called the rest of us were set free among cheers.
