This sauce is the bomb. Nothing close. Hoarders have taken control. I probably won’t see it again for years. Hurricanes have decimated Jamaica
Kudos to the greatest of sauces.

My wife talked me out of the 120$ for a gallon. I shouldn’t have listened.

(5 bucks for 5 oz, 128 oz a gallon is a bargain)

What do you use this stuff for?

I've had it poured over a block of cream cheese for an appetizer/snack with crackers, but what else can you do with it?

Why are you saying RIP? Is there any confirmation? They took a direct hit in 2024 but I don't think they were too affected by Melissa.

I can’t find it at Rouses, Albertsons, Walmart, and Bet R. I now see it online for $20 a bottle.

Also, Pickapeppa Facebook

I currently have one unopened bottle. Should I get it insured? So sad because it really is the best sauce.

Years ago I was introduced to this sauce at Port of Call and again at Mariners Inn in Hammond, You won't find it at either today.

A POC or Mariners burger with cheddar, raw onion, mayo and PP sauce is glorious. I still use it on my burgers at home.

Pickapeppa is still in business even though impacted by hurricanes. April is target date for reestablishing distribution. A major distributor is Warbac Sales in Metarie. You can sign onto a waiting list online...www.pickapeppa.com

1st experienced pickapeppa which made overcooked and possibly ripe grilled mahi-mahi quite good. It was in a small dive in Discovery Bay Jamaica that served as a social club for crewmen waiting for bauxite to be loaded. I didn't know at the time (~1980) that the bauxite was destined for Gramercy. The Bond story/movie Live and Let Die featured that ore route.

Why did I think it was from Trinidad?

Is there a similar sauce from there?

Trinidad has a large east Indian population making fermented sauces part of their national cuisine. Chief Brand is a major manufacturer and exporter. I haven't tried any of their sauces...LINK But I've seen a few at BTR groceries. They make a confusing number of things.
