Left lane driving confession: forgive me for I have sinned

Crossing the causeway at 2am Wednesday morning I kind of zoned out. Found myself going 60 in the left lane when I car passed to my right. The shame and guilt immediately washed over me. I thought about what pittance I might ask for here, but later, when getting onto the 310 heading south, I got a flat tire. I was unable to get my spare down so I had to call a tow truck. Did you all know there's a 24 hour tire shop on Elysian Fields?
The entire debacle cost me $115 using roadside assistance, my manhood for being unable to change a flat, and I ended up being late for work and had to come offshore on a later flight.
My co-workers told me that most offshore baws would've used that flat tire to come out the next day and get a free day at home.
Is this enough pain on my part to account for the left lane? Must I sacrifice more? Does my getting to work at all cost count for anything?
Also feel free to vent your anger at my enormous lapse in driving judgement.

You will only be forgiven if you never post again.

Flat tire at 2am and being late for a flight sound like a decent enough punishment for an infraction that early in the morning hours.
Just don't let it happen again.

I'm not satisfied yet. Punch yourself in the balls and then you should be good.

You're a rough neck and can't change a tire?

Work offshore and can't change a tire? Must be part of the hospitality crew doing laundry and cleaning toilets.

Why did you go all the way from the 310 to Elysian Fields?
You couldn’t have waited a few more hours and gone to a decent place to get your tire fixed in like Luling or Hahnville?

There was no fixing the tire. When it went flat on the 310 I wasn’t stopping to fix a tire there so I drove on it to the next exit. Tire was destroyed. Neither I nor the tow truck driver could lower the spare so he towed me to a 24 hour shop on EF. I had to make a flight and didn’t have time to wait around for something more local to open.

There’s a 24 seven tire shop on Elysian Fields? Who were the thunk it.

Keep posting this type of emotional crap. You will improve. Try reading some Mitch Alboms for inspiration. You get an upvote for effort but need to work to improve.

The entire experience was suspect. I talked to 2 Americans on the phone, but the driver and the tire changer weren’t from around here. And the person I paid $25 on Venmo was a long ways from home. The tire shop claimed to open at 6 but a fella was changing tires at 530 when I pulled up. “90 duller cash for used tire right now”. And he pronounced it duller.

My daughters (no) know how to change a flat. For shame.

Yes, but waiting until normal business hours for a tire shop wouldn’t have got me there by 8. First flight check in is 5, second flight is 8.

The spare wouldn’t come down man. I swear I can change a flat. But I’ll take the beating.

What the hell does 310 got to do with Elysian Fields?
Like 15 miles apart

So you’ve learned your lesson about rodaying in the left lane, huh?

I’d like to think so.

This has happened to me also, in newer vehicles. Don't let these people make you feel bad.
