I get that it is a MP so why bother with the 5-7 hour campaigns, don't do them and drop the price with cost savings from developing them.

There are unironically people who only buy like the yearly COD Madden and NBA2K and think it’s peak gaming. I pity them but also find them hilarious.

I've really enjoyed the majority of CoD campaigns, even ones like Infinite (actually especially Infinite) where I didnt like the multiplayer at all. This one just sounds like shitty online Co-op missions strung together.

These games should really just stop including them. There was a time they were legitimate true art and could stand nearly toe to toe with other story games. I mean the term no russian is literally still in use. Those days are long gone though and now theyre just memes. These have been made 100% live service slop games, and I dont even say that as an insult if thats what you like, thats cool. Its just the truth

Shooter campaigns are nostalgia bait and filler. It’s been that way for a long long time. It should be surprising to no one at this point.

Every so often they’ll come up with an interesting gimmick or at least one mission will be memorable, but I keep my expectations low.

Zombies has been circling the drain even on Treyarch titles.

The competitive multiplayer is the only reason these games are still relevant. It will likely be a down year for them in terms of online market share due to bf6, but I’m sure the mp will be largely passable and the zombies will be fun for a few rounds.

Cod is dead and has been for awhile

They tried to keep it afloat with verdansk but they’re just not good at making it anymore

It’s pretty clear they are out of ideas.

i think BF6 which I like and these games arent even my thing, and the overall very positive public support for it are very telling, even though most admit its campaign is meme worthy. COD killed itself trying to chase the money of yearly sports franchises, EA pulled all the studios together they possibly could to make one excellent game without a "yearly release" mandate. The outcome is very stark and noticeable even if i find BF6 still has flaws

Saying "All Ghillied Up" would put a picture in a lot of gamers' heads

That's how good COD used to be

Soaps death is still one of the most impactful deaths in gaming to me. It isnt becauase COD is one of the best stories ever told, but what it meant and represented to a generation of teenage gamers like me at the time.

My time with CoD has come to an end. I have played every game from CoD 4 - BO6.

I was likely done no matter how this game looked but after seeing some of the campaign and multi stuff….it ain’t for me anymore.

Was a solid run and I enjoyed many moments and made plenty of friends but all good things must come to an end.

I don’t see how they’re even enjoyable for you guys anymore. I havent played or enjoyed a game like this in forever until BF6. My friends that do play tell me cheating is a massive problem with its own industry that they don’t work to stop, as well as skilled based match making being arse

There have been some definite stinkers recently (Vanguard MW3 2023) but I enjoyed MW1 2019, MW2 2022 and Black Ops Cold War, and 6 campaigns..but Im admittedly easily amused...lol.

I wish they would just separate the development cycle of the campaigns. Maybe make them a spin off series or something. Sell them separately like they did the original MW1 MW2 remakes a few year ago .but that will never happen . This will be the first year since 2005 I will pass on playing CoD at all.

I think theres a definite place in the market for very high quality first person shooter military campaigns. I dont think theres any possible way for them to be made anymore by the companies producing the multiplayer content at the same time though. Just look at BF6 an example ill bring up again. EA brought together 4 whole studios to my knowledge and gave them like 4 years to make the game. The multiplayer definitely reflects this, the single player looks like it was made in 3 month with recycled assets. It likely was close to this
