Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Wednesday that "substantial" tariff relief for a number of everyday consumer items would be announced shortly.

Bessent, speaking on Fox News Channel, said that while "it's tough to do a lot of specific things," the administration would be moving to cut duties on a number of "things that we don't grow here in the United States."

He indicated that coffee, bananas and other fruits would be among the items to see some import tax relief, but did not say how.

"That will bring prices down very quickly," Bessent told "Fox and Friends."

President Donald Trump also promised tariff relief on coffee this week.

"Coffee, we're going to lower some tariffs," the president said Tuesday evening on Fox News. "We're going to have some coffee come in."

I was told tariffs don't raise prices and that Americans weren't paying them anyway. Why would we need relief?

Thank God! Coffee and Banana prices are what ails the United States and now we have an administration who feels our collective pain and has taken steps to make breakfast affordable again....

There is exactly zero chance the prices go back down to where they were, even when adjusted for inflation.

Coffee has seen a drastic increase on the shelf, but I doubt we see Community lower the price.

He said this yesterday, correct?

Is this the one where he followed up talking about inflation relief with the bullshite tariff stimulus check talk? Yeah, sounds like a great plan.

I drank Community for years. The big bag is now $19.97 at Walmart and the small bag is over $14 at Publix. They priced me out, and I doubt I ever buy it again.

Excellent question

Did our moron overlords finally discover that we can’t grow coffee here?

I’m shocked. Absolutely shocked. I really believed tariffs were magic money.

I guess we are not going to eliminate the income tax, I mean, “refinance” our debt,
