Haven’t seen a thread on it yet. What are yalls thoughts on Mathews latest release?

LINK

Looks like they are offering it in 30” and 34” ATA.

Looks like the same bow as last year to me.

I think it’s hard to move the needle these days. Not a huge upgrade from last year.

How much more advanced or “better” are these new bows vs my dxt? At the risk of sounding like a pawpaw, I’ve been so happy with my dxt and like the way it shoots that I’ve not considered buying a new bow.

I’m not a Mathews loyalist at all, but a Lift or ARC is dramatically better than the DXT. They won’t kill deer any better, but they shoot better and the draw cycle is unreal in comparison.

Seems the biggest change is the limb curvature. It’s less than the Lifts. Slightly smoother draw cycle. Not that big of a difference.

Prime made the biggest leap last year. Their new bow looks just the same.

The PSE Sicario is an interesting bow. Looks like the Mach. Thing is legit shooting 325-335 FPS.

I still shoot a z7 but have shot a lift and whatever was the flagship two years ago. The newer bows are usually hair slower than the old solocams but are noticeably smoother drawing, quieter, hold more steady, and have less vibration. All of it is comfort for the shooter as opposed to specs, effectiveness, etc. This year’s model basically just added a little more DIY tuning ability and machined out more metal than they ever have from the riser to make it light as hell. Starting two years or so ago they made it so you could work on the bow without a press, etc. It’s up to you if any of that is worth it.

You think the solocams were faster than the Lifts? My Lift RS has an ibo speed of 353fps. I have a short draw(27”), shooting a 503gr arrow around 275fps. You think a solocam is faster than that?

Before the Lift, it was the Phase 4. It’s a slower bow. With the same draw and arrow mentioned above, mine shoots 255fps. It’s incredibly smooth and quiet though.
From what I’ve heard, the Arc is fast like a Lift but doesn’t have the big hump before dropping into the valley like the lift does. Supposedly, smooth on the draw, but still a speed bow. I don’t plan on owning one though. Between my phase 4 and my lift RS, I shouldn’t need a new bow for quite a few years.

Never been a better time to buy a few years old used bow and get 99% of the performance for half the cost of a new one. The market is flooded from people who feel like they need to upgrade every two years.

That is what I did last December. Bought a LiftX with some accessories for cheap. Found on AT. Guy had just got the bow in, got laid off, and needed money for Christmas.

I’m sure there were slower solocams and have been faster newer bows, but there’s an old quote that they could build a bow that shoots 400 fps if they wanted, but no one would shoot it twice. Speed was a big selling point in the 2010’s, now they are more trying to maintain speed while making it more and more comfortable to achieve. You can’t trust IBO ratings as far as you can throw them, MFJJ is getting the same speed in the arc as the lift, they just advertise it as being a little lower, his words “it’s almost like they know we’re checking it now.”
