We are going to pay top dollar for a good Coach and we will get the right one for the program.

Plenty of talented Coaches in college and the NFL to choose from.

The image should be that on Saturdays you get your arse kicked playing LSU. Nothing else

I’ve said this the whole time. Money talks and the next coach of LSU will be top 5 highest paid coaches in the country with a very large NiL budget.

Yes we should and will get the right coach but paying top $ is a mistake until he wins big.

We may very well get a good coach, but to act like it hasn't been a complete clown show since the Sunday after the A&M game is disingenuous.

This goes on at every school that makes a change. Some cooperate, some don’t.

Heck, I remember Dinardo fighting his buyout when he took the LSU job.

Not tryna be a dick baw but the frickin governor doesn't get involved publicly in every coaching change at other schools.

Whos the last coach that sued their school over the buyout situation? With as many coaching changes we see year in year out it should be easy to say who had the last messy divorce right? It really doesn't come to mind for me.

All this bitching and moaning on here and the Gov Mansion is because we “paid top dollar” for a coach. If you think there’s a guarantee the next coach will win titles or will automatically be better because Woodward isn’t the one hiring him, is the ultimate wishful thinking

Yes. The governor should have kept his mouth closed, but the lack of a permanent president probably made this unique.

LSU already learned from your mistake. You want LSU to return to the 90s? No thanks.

Emmert saw the potential for LSU football. He made Saban the third highest paid coach in the country. That worked pretty well for LSU.

Not to this degree, and usually the university doesn't continually look like a clown show. LSU is too good a job for the clown show to put most candidates off.

The only potentially damaging part is the specifics of the contract dispute. That might give a few guys pause about moving around.

If it ends up looking like a really clumsy contract negotiation in the end, it will be forgotten with a quickness. Initially, I was not sure what would happen there but now I suspect it will look like it was just that.

To pretend that there hasn't been a negative impact from the chaotic events that took place is laughable.

People just need to have something to bitch about these days. We’ve complained enough about BK and the season now we moved onto this.

Sure the same people freaking out now are the same ones freaking out when the baseball team doesn’t go undefeated in sec play.

Name them. And then explain why they would leave their current spot, where I assume they are succesful, to try and bring order to the chaos in Baton Rouge.

Any big time coach that LSU wants...should tell LSU they want their buyout money up front and theyll pay it back to the school prorated after every season. LSU would be screwed and if the coaches want to band together and make an example out of LSU for any other school thinking about doing this down the road...the coaches just might get together and do it.

Indeed, the BK, Jimbo, Riley, Norvel,.....experiments prove your point.

Ill give you that for sure. Im just fatigued from the negative PR that plagues us. Kids hospitals, the coach doesn't check in or talk to the brain tumor guy that played for him, lacys deal. He'll I still think about team vote every now and again. Tired of the perpetual raincloud and thinking a top 3 job wouldn't be as appealing to potential candidates because of this stupid shite.
