Either this is an economic zone that is a place where people from across the world can come to get benefits (H1B jobs, welfare, college) at the detriment of our job market, healthcare systems, housing market, and general infrastructure or this is a nation with traditions, cultural norms, and institutions worth preserving and putting support behind.

If you are willing to forgo emphasis on building up what’s already here to support shareholder value, you are not “maga”.

I have started describing this as the "America First" cohort in opposition to the "MAGA" cohort are just Trump fanboys and neocons.

The cracks are developing for sure.

G - you have done a great job articulating this issue with facts on the ground. I had kind of wondered if you're an outlier -- tiggerthetooth has been posting fanmail from some Rasmussen guy's twitter and every email sounds like it came from you.

Yeah I went into some detail in stout's thread. Was going to make a thread on that alone (along with Trump flailing so much) but stout covered it.

The problem with H1Bs are that multiple 6-figures of tech workers are losing their jobs. You can't tell me the program is running efficiently. Of course in the boom times we need more workers.

My comments months ago about H1B were in a much more prosperous economic time, but if your domestic population is the one exclusively feeling the brunt when the economy turns, then the governmental action has to come under scrutiny.

Also, if actors are engaging in fraud to take advantage of government programs, that's an issue.

I canceled my Prime subscription because the retards in India had no idea how to deal with my fraud matter that they should have been able to correct in a minute. And I could barely understand a word they said.

Not an outlier. There are thousands of us. Even the tech oriented subreddits on far left reddit are very sympathetic to the anti H1B sentiment.

Its a major problem for those of us in tech and tech adjacent roles.

I didnt want to leave Dallas-Fort Worth but it had gotten so bad with the Indian gatekeepers in the hiring process and Indian decision makers at companies actively working to push out Americans.

My last company I was laid off and replaced by an H1B who I had to train under a white CEO. They now have an Indian CEO. Think the offshoring and replacing Americans with H1Bs will get better or worse there? According to my LinkedIn feed... its gotten far worse

It will also change the voting in places like North Texas. It already has in Fort Bend County.

THAT is the argument I never understood why MAGA ignored.

I have always argued things move net left over time, so it's not shocking to me, but the "WE ARE NEVER LOSING ANOTHER ELECTION" crowd should be taking notice.

the panican is strong with this one. I don’t think people are interpreting Trump’s point correctly.

He is clearly fixated on the certain jobs that need foreign workers to teach Americans because the knowledge has been lost. The South Korea issue in Georgia was top of mind and i’m sure the South Koreans made it a point during their trade talks.

Everyone is ignoring the first two words Trump uttered - “I agree”. He agrees that in general, we can’t mass import foreign workers. I think he just wanted to make the point that there are examples where it’s actually necessary.

Lastly, if you think Stephen Miller isn’t on top of this and in Trump’s ear, you’re crazy. Everything will be fine.

America First has the correct opinion on both immigration and foreign policy. Its where the energy lies. Huge imprint online.

MAGA is essentially dead. It's boomers and neocons - dinosaurs on cable news.
