How important is it that the new HC be in place for Dec. high school signing day and transfer portal opening?

Assuming several candidates would still be in season, are the first-year classes for new coaches typically considered a wash (or I guess a success if you keep the existing kids committed and don’t lose key layers to the portal)?

Personally, I prefer to get the right HC than worry about a series of players.

It's the long game. The coach ++ player or "losing a recruiting class" never ends up meaning as much as people scream about. Get your coach and go.

We still have HC BK. He's still employed, just reassigned here at LSU/ Landry. He'll be recruiting and working the portal.

Short term? Important for Dec signing day.

Long term? Doesn't matter. If you get the right Coach you will get the players. We should be looking at ensuring we get the right coach and not just hire someone as quickly as possible.

I don't get these questions! It is widely reported LSU is interested in Lane Kiffin. My 3 year old knows this! He is still coaching so if you're serious about going after him it's gonna be a minute.

This is what makes hiring so tough. They will essentially lose out on an offseason of portal/recruiting. You obviously want to make the right hire but it might come at the cost of a season

I posted earlier, rushing to hire a head coach because you are worried the portal will close (or you'll miss signing day), is like rushing to a car because you are worried the gas station will be closed.
