Hot Tub Time Machine - April…who is she?

I really enjoy this movie from time to time… funny in so many ways….
What always bothers me is the chick, April, who is obsessed with Adam when they end up back in 1986.
Is she some sort of time traveler too?
Why is she there and seems to be so involved?
She clearly wasn’t there in the original past…. So why is she there now?

Who says she wasn’t there in the original past? Adam going back in time and trying to avoid breaking up with the great white buffalo (great white buffalo) Jenny is what led to them running into each other.

But they go to Poison as scheduled and he goes to get drinks and then poof… there she is and she immediately approaches him

Right they went as scheduled bc they hadn’t broken up yet. Had he broken up with her before going like he was supposed to, he wouldn’t have been at the poison show.

She was my least favorite part of an otherwise fun and immersive movie.
Very peculiar instead of the "cool" she was supposed to be, and just weird looking.

The 1st one is a fantastic movie. I rewatched it recently and didn't realize the girl in the hot tub with Nick Webber was Don Draper 2nd wife in Mad Men.
A spectacular set on her.

You can’t know that. They may have even met back then. But he had a girlfriend then and she likely would have walked away. I think the point was she was his soulmate some such shite.
