out of court and will have no affect on LSU’s ability to hire the coach they want.
Saban, though not likely, is still in play, believe it or not. And Kiffin still has a lot of interest in the LSU job, but obviously he is focusing on his current playoff run.
Be patient, LSU is in a good spot.

It is not LSU. Boosters agreed to pay him $27 mil if he accepted but now the dispute appears to be between boosters lawyer and BK lawyer. Obviously they are the ones who are going to pay for the next coach so let it run its course. LSU made it clear the money is not coming from LSU budget.

The problem is the drama doesn't look good when recruiting a new head coach. Who wants to come here if the university doesn't honor their contract?

Kelly fricked up here. He is using vulnerability he helped create for leverage. LSU needs to be patient with their messaging and at least make Kelly look like the a-hole he is while paying the buyout.
They should send him his termination for cause tomorrow, along with an offer to settle for the original buyout terms, also with a public apology dressed as an Aggie yell leader.
