He's sabotaging his own political career regardless of whether this is intentional or not. In fact, it would look better if this actually is intentional because if he's so fricking incompetent that this is not intentional, then can you imagine what else he's fricking up with our state?

If there's one thing that could make me consider voting for a democrat for the first time since 2008, it's a retard governor sabotaging LSU football.

No he’s just stupid and thinks “fixing” LSU’s overspending in a poor state makes him look good to voters.

It's simpler than that - he's just a moron.

It’s grandstanding, attention whoring, full of sh*t politicians like him that make me sick. The only reason he opened his mouth was to get his name out there. If he fricked this up for us I will vote for literally anybody else.

As much as football runs the state. Why would he think that's a smart idea?

Could you imagine the mayor of New Orleans doing all the things that would frick the Saints then having the nerve to ask for reelection? This is the same thing.

frick him. He's cooked. I hope Shroeder runs again.

He’s already setting himself up to be a one term wonder.

My how the tide has turned. Previously he was "just saying what no one else wanted to."

Jeff Landry has never spoken for me
Trump, yes. Our state senators? Most of the time.
Landry? Never.

He will shoulder the blame even if proven other wise. As of now he cannot win re-election.

Unknowingly, yes he is. I don't think it's on purpose. I think Landry is genuinely an idiot.

All of this is due to Landry. If people forget down the line, you need to remind them. Landry did this to LSU.

Because football doesn’t run the state. Blanco getting elected triggered Emmert hitting the eject button on LSU.

For all the pissed off ranters, Landry can point to Hyundai, Meta, and the LNG terminal as multi billion investment/jobs that never would’ve happened under JDE.

We likely have 6 more years of this.

People miscalculate all the time. He thought he read the signals correctly, with people going on about the bad contract and how much money was spent, etc., and came out with a forceful statement that he thought would make him look Trump-like.

Either he sounds his ideas in an echo chamber, or he simply misinterpreted some grumbling with an overwhelming support for reigning in the coaching salaries, regardless of how it affects LSU's coaching search, or he failed to consider the consequences of his grandstanding on the current situation all the way around.
