2:00+ minutes on the clock right before half was the most frustrating time this entire sea

Defense comes up with a huge stop and we get the ball around the 20 yard line with a little over 2 minutes to play.

Nuss proceeds to throw 3 passes all at or behind the line of scrimmage despite having guys open down the field on atleast 2 of them and having “not great time” but “enough time” to get rid of the ball.

This is the point where I officially gave up on Nuss and decided I did not want to see him anymore this season.

It did not help that Bama then scored in 2 (technically 3) plays. Because they chose to throw it deep and in the middle of the field, something Nuss has failed to do all season.

He seems like a decent person but he lacks killer instincts, true leadership, and seemed uncoachable on the sidelines. In the 3rd quarter while getting ripped by Frank (a well deserved chewing) the “better tha you” look on his face was telling of how he sees himself amongst the team.

Despite some blunders and a few blow coverages defense did very well. If you told me Week 0 we’d hold Bama to 20 and Ole Miss to 24, I’d tell you we’d be undefeated in week 11.

Instead we are 5-4 with no leadership on offense.

I don’t know if Nuss regressed or refused to work in the off season, but he honestly shouldn’t see the field any more this season.

I remember getting the ball with something like 22 seconds and a timeout left before the half and we just decided to go into the locker room instead of playing football. I came unglued.

I didn’t expect to win the game. I knew we had too many holes, but I expected Nussmeier to fight harder and he showed that he just doesn’t have the stones of a Burrow or Daniels

This pissed me off. Fired your coach, interim hc and can ruin your biggest rivals season. And you tuck your fing tail.

We could have ran more time off. There was zero reason to give Alabama the ball back with that much time. It should have been a 1 possession game with us getting the ball after half.

Bad football.

Well we can't win the game when we don't try to make the most of 22 seconds with a timeout left of the half, when you have 1st down, and you get the ball back to start the 2nd half.

That isn't getting the amount of attention it should be getting.

This was when I changed out of my LSU gear - never been so disappointed (ashamed) of my team in my entire 8 decades of living and dying with their success/failure.

I'd never seen a wholesale "give up" attitude before.

This, again, is the fault of the play caller. We were scared to throw down the field for fear our OLine wouldn’t hold up. I understand the importance of throwing some short and quick passes, but to throw 80-90% short is just playing into a defenses hands. DeBoer even mentioned it in his halftime interview.

I agree 10000% percent. We should have run the ball on third and long and taken 45-50 seconds off the clock. Then punted. Bama would have taken a knee, most likely, as there would have been less than 30 seconds on the clock with no time outs, and at worse, we could have been down 13-3.

He had time to get engaged to help spend some of the 4 million he raked in while not working on his own time to develop chemistry with a ton of new receivers.

IMO, Nuss packed in this season and is just going through the motions while he awaits the NFL draft. Amazingly, he's rated as the fifth best QB in the draft. Adios Nusso

I’ve also never seen a team that uses the entire 40 second clock every angle down.

Literally.l, we are finally lined up each play with about 6 seconds to spare.
