Is it the "rock n roll" part or just their inclusion in general?

Outkast,

Greatest rap group of all time, glad they are in. Been wanting them in for a good while.

Salt n Peppa getting in is really, really dumb.

It is beyond ridiculous that Bryan Adams is not in the Hall of Fame. He certainly represented well for Joe Cocker's and Bad Company's legacies. I think he should have topped the list of inductees this year, rather than again topping the list of non-inductees. Hall of Famers open for him on tour...Geezzuuss!!

The majority of the people/bands in the rock and roll hall of fame are not rock and roll. It's been that way since it's inception, this isn't something new.

Ftr I don’t think it should be opened up to rap, at all, but at this point, it already is. And if there is going to be rap and hip hop in it, OutKast is deserving. That may hurt some of yall to hear, but their music is significantly more meritorious than .38 special. Lauper and Salt n Pepa not so much, but shite like Sheryl Crow is just as bad.

And Billy Idol -- while nominated this year -- got left out.

The Rock Hall is a joke.

It should have been called the Pop Hall of Fame then.

Sure, but i mean I wasn't in charge of naming it. I'm just stating that this isn't some new phenomenon letting in non rock groups.
