if my breaker box is full.

I'm of course going to be consulting a pro, but would appreciate some advice so I can at least speak the language and understand what I'm told or offered as solution(s). Panel where I need to add the circuit is in the garage, I do not see any empty spots. My house has three panels: One outside by the meter, one inside in the "old house" and one in the garage that serves the garage and an addition we did about 10 years ago.

The panel is pictured below - not sure if I need a new panel, a sub-panel or something else that I don't know about. Thanks for any help. (cross posted in H&G board).

What’re you trying to run baw? I’m not an electrician but have recently hired one. In getting quotes it was a lot of what are we trying to do here type conversation.

Do you need the power to be generated by the relative motion of conductors and fluxes or produced by the modial interaction of magneto-reluctance and capacitive diractance?

Setting up a grow house? I know a guy in ATL, licensed electrician who specializes in it.

I'm not sure you have the service to do that. That looks like a 100amp panel, you'd have to upgrade to standard 200Amp service. Would require replacement of your current service and negate the need for a sub panel. May require assistance from your poles and wires. They could set a new meter and new service perhaps.

You aren't getting 60A out of that one. You're going to need to grab another feed from the box at the meter.

Ok, so I wondered that myself. The "main" switch is a double lever with 100 marked on each. I'm to ignorant to know if that means 100 x 2 = 200 (that's what I was thinking) or if its just a 100A circuit that has two levers.

I'm not under any circumstances doing any of this work myself, lol.

Some of those breakers for lighting are overkill for today's LED and florescent lamps, but the potential loads from the ACs and heaters tip the scale.

100 amps.

The double config will switch off both 120V taps to the transformer and not just one.

So that means run a new wire from the main service box where the meter is to the location? House is on Pier and Beams so its doable, I'm just trying to get an idea of the complexity here and thank you for the reply.

What are the two "A/C" + "heater" breakers feeding? Is it two outdoor units + a gas heater? Are the outdoor units heat pumps (capable of heating and cooling)?

You have a 100A main breaker on the panel, but that may have been whatever the electrician had available. Go look at the main panel by the meter. What is the breaker ampacity feeding the garage? It might be lower than 100A.

You might be able to free up the space by using "tandem" breakers to free up some spaces in the panel for your EV charger. This gets tricky though, as the added circuits in the panel = more heat. There's a sticker on the left side of your photo (located on the panel cover/door) that may have info on how many tandem breakers are allowed.

The "main" in your picture is 100A. Is the main in the panel by the meter 100A? Take a picture of your main panel with all of the breakers included. If there's a separate circuit directory (as in the breakers don't have labels next to them, but the circuits are labeled inside the door), then take a picture of that.

Kudos for having a marked panel.
I've bought 3 "used" houses in my lifetime and none of the panels ever had any identification as to what breaker went to what.
Frustrating.
