Of this season is that Alabama has proven if you have a decent Oline and a competent QB, you can win without the dominating running game. And yet…..

It will catch up to them. They won’t be able to beat the majority of teams that will make the playoffs without being able to run the football.

So hard to watch. I can’t ever remember a year where I don’t even want to watch the highlights. Wins are hard to watch losses even worse.

But at least they will be in the playoffs, which is the goal.

Feels like the first bad years under Archer and Dinardo. Those teams had talent. Hell, Dinardo's defense had a bunch of NFL players and it ranked as the worst LSU defense ever at the time.

So much for all you need to do is recruit talent at LSU to win. It wins on its own. Nope. You still have to develop it.

Little understated here. Multiple future NFL starters on that line and Simpson is a projected top 5 or top 10 pick.

Competent QB (bama)?

Ty Simpson is much more than competent. He’s one of the best QBs on the country.

They aren’t going very far in the playoffs. They’ll struggle next week vs OU as well.

That's the thing though. They don't have a decent offensive line. Simpson was hurried 7 times, and had a sack fumble. Bama's leading rusher had 21 yards and they had 56 as a team.

It's not the offensive line. It's Simpson and play calling.

Who tf has even tested OSU? Texas in week 1? I would be very concerned about Michigan & Indiana if I was OSU

That game was exasperating to have attended. Sitting in the upper deck end zone near the top, putting up with annoying, confrontational Gumps and watching Nuss throw 4 yd passes. Awful

Let’s be real here, OSU finished 4th in their conference, lost their two biggest games of the year & still got to host a CFP game against the most overrated team in the CFP last year. Notre Dame got to play Indiana (not good last year), UGA without a QB or offensive scheme & Penn State…. Penn State effectively played three non-P4 teams. Luck & favor from the committee are very normal things in the game today

They do have a decent o line. Simpson held the ball way too long on that fumble.

Their line was better vs LSU but they've had some bad games this year, especially at tackle.

Edge guys just running by their tackles without being touched, much like we've experienced.

But….. they will be in the playoffs. They are in the hunt. That’s the name of the game.

Too many people make sports an All or nothing proposition. Only one team wins every year. The fun, the excitement, the thrill of it all is to be in the hunt. To actually have a program that actually competes for titles on a regular basis.

They do, we don’t.
