Just missed the game winning TD. Then followed it with a good one

Im not a big Mendoza guy, but this season of his is miles better than anything Shough did in 7 years of college football

Shough was not making high level pre and post snap reads like Mendoza is doing. He’s got it between the ears. It’s really going to come down to timing, fit and patience (and also whether or not he’s got the fire inside to get better, but that’s the case with most draftees)

He still isn't.

Its only one game, but he was one read and let it go, or scramble, vs the Rams.

At no point in Shough’s college career did he look as good as Mendoza has these last two years.

I’m a Mendoza fan. He seems to check every physical box even if he isn’t elite in any one area. There isn’t any glaring physical question as with Bryce young.

To me he it’s the mental makeup and composure. Guy seems to be a real leader, handles the huddle, and keeps pulling out wins. And has done it now in two very different college settings.

I like Mendoza. Not in love with him like some because I think he’s more Goff/Cousins than Mahomes/Allen/Burrow

But he’s pretty polished. Has the stature. The stats. The starts. Decently athletic. Good arm and good throws to all levels. Goes through progressions at a level much higher than most college QBs right now

I just watched Mendoza stay cool under pressure and sling a game winning TD while getting wrecked. Shough needs to show he can handle pressure without panicking, I think that's been his most glaring flaw.

Yea I think that’s about my opinion too.

But I think good enough physically plus right mental makeup can make a star nfl qb.

Impossible to know who is mentally, but he seems more Matt Ryan than Jay Cutler on that scale.

And Matt Ryan may be a decent comp.

Holy shite…..way to tell EVERYONE that you didn’t watch any of the film

He regularly went through the full progression when he had time. Hell the TD to Juwan was his 3rd read

It’s still a long shot that he’s the answer, but that was a pretty good start against the best defense they faced all year…….and it was the first start of his career

The guy has a lot to prove, but I am more encouraged than I was about him earlier in the season

We really need to get the 1st pick. Either to draft this dude or trade with the Jets.

Saints have the top pick in draft. They have to draft Mendoza. Unless, Shough is the guy. I don't he will be.
