Serious answers, please. What do Dems want? What does GOP want? Why won’t Mike Johnson swear in that Dem Congresswoman who won her election a couple of months ago?
I pay attention fairly well, but all of the reporting is partisan.

They want $1.5 trillion in new spending, indefinite extension of the ACA enhanced subsidies, and they want to roll back large portions of the OBBBA, which was passed in both houses and signed by the duly elected president.

The Republican house passed a continuing resolution that matched what the Democrats passed earlier this year. The Senate has brought it up to vote multiple times but not enough Democrats have voted in favor of bringing it to a formal vote.

It started out as them taking a stand for illegals losing benefits. Now it seems the glaring issue is Obamacare subsidies for people. They don’t want the people who are getting plans for $34 a month to have to pay $800 like everyone else. Those people might start to think health insurance, Obamacare, is a failure.
